For the first time, the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has confirmed that Iran sent a comprehensive roadmap proposal to settle its problems with the United States in 2003, but the Bush Administration blew the opportunity for a dialogue. This is not surprising since neoconservatives were in charge of U.S. foreign policy during that period, and were drunk with their invasion plan for Iraq. The Washington Post has published the memo from Iran drafted by Sadeq Kharrazi, former Iranian Ambassador to France, and a close confidant of the Iranian Supreme Leader. The memo has a cover letter by the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran that summarizes his conversations with Kharrazi. Very interesting document.
